Stephanie watched in horror as her image flashed across the Titan Tron. Jericho was showing the crowd before and after pictures of her. Granted she had taken the plunge and gotten breast implants, but she didn't think that everyone would be making the big deal out of it that they were. When Chyna had gotten her implants there weren't any negative comments made about her! At least she had breasts to begin with! She was furious, and needless to say hurt. I guess their talk from the previous week had slipped his mind. She played the defensive spoiled brat that everyone was accustomed to without flaw, until finally their segment was over.
Backstage people were buzzing about the events that had just taken place. Stephanie was so embarrased that she went straight to her dressing room. She looked at her reflection in the mirror, she didn't look that bad did she? Her breasts were still swollen and sore, but she was happy with them, as was Hunter. He was the one who talked her into it. She cursed silently as a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
Walking to the door quickly she opened it to find Chris, standing there, looking at her sheepishly. "May I come in?" She stepped out of his way and he walked in. "I just want to say I'm sorry for what happened out there, it wasn't my idea."
"Oh really? Who's was it?" She stared at him, her arms crossed over her chest. She suddenly felt very self conscious around him.
"Your father's. He's the one who gave me the picture and said I should do it. Steph, listen, I know we haven't gotten along in the past," She cut him off before he could finish.
"It doesn't look like we're going to be getting along in the present or future either." He sighed and stroked his beard for a second.
"Do you mind if I have a seat?" Without waiting for her to answer, Chris sat down and continued. "I know we haven't gotten along in the past, BUT, I want that to change. I liked talking to you the other night. At first, well, I honestly didn't know how I felt about the whole, us getting along idea. You know, I've actually grown to like it. I'd like to get to know you better."
Stephanie frowned, this was not at all what she was expecting. She looked up, a smile tugging the corners of her mouth. "So, you don't want to take me to Hooter's for dinner?"
"Darling, if we went there, I'm afraid they'd try to put you to work." He smiled and shrugged. "Not to um, bury myself any deeper here, but why did you do it? I thought you looked fine before."
Stephanie didn't know what to say, sure she should say that she wanted them to feel better about herself, so that she could compare to the other Diva's in the federation, but she couldn't quite get herself to lie. "Because, Hunter said that I would look better this way."
Chris nodded and looked up at her. "Shoulda known, look what he did to Chyna..although it was a vast improvement. I guess they'll look better when the swelling goes down, huh?" She nodded and he stoood. "Well, I guess I had better leave before people start getting curious. I'll just walk out of here pissed, let em think we were fighting or something."
"Alright, and Chris?" She stopped him, he turned around, not knowing what to expect. "Thank you for letting me know." She hugged him, he just stood there, the hug didn't last long and soon he was walking out the door, cursing slightly. The least he could have done was hug her back.
