It was just her luck that the plane was late. After spending the past week running around town trying her very best to make things perfect for her little sister’s visit, Amy Dumas had rushed to the airport only to find that the flight was under an hour delay. She sighed and slunk down in her chair for the tenth time that hour. She hated airport chairs. They were hard and her ass hurt from sitting in it for so long.

Shane Helms patted her shoulder. "Don’t worry, Ames. They’ll be here soon." Amy just rolled her eyes at him. She was thankful she had brought someone along, even if it wasn’t Jay. He was still in Cameron, preparing for the big barbeque that she had planned in honor of her sister’s arrival. She loved the fact that he was so willing to help her out all the time, which was one of the main reasons she had fallen for him, but not even he was willing to sit in an airport with her. Hell, she had to promise Shane that he could drive her new car just to persuade him into coming.

Amy hadn’t seen Drea since Christmas, and after six months, it had felt like forever. When Amy had suggested the visit, it had taken Drea under two seconds to agree, and less than a day for her and her housemate to get packed and get tickets to fly down from their Massachusetts home. Amy knew that both girls would be excited to be back in Cameron to see all their old friends, and even more excited that they had finally got a break from school. They were rising seniors in college. They had earned a vacation.

Shane nudged Amy as he noticed the change in the flight schedule. He pointed up to the board listing plane arrivals. There it was. Flight number sixty-nine from Worcester, Massachusetts was listed as landing. Amy saw people start to filter their way through the crowd, nearing the gate the girls would be coming from. Amy followed suit, dragging Shane along behind her. She leaned against the wall, tapping her fingers impatiently. Shane sighed and gripped her hand.

"Calm down, Amy. She’ll be out in a minute." He dropped her hand which she stuffed in her pocket to prevent herself from involuntarily tapping on things. She kept glancing at the clock on the wall. Ten fucking minutes. How the hell long did it take to land a plane?

She finally let out a breath when people started appearing from the terminal. Finally. Amy couldn’t really understand why she was so nervous. She just assumed that it was because she was so excited she’d get to see Drea and the fact that she’d been stressing all week. She squinted as she tried to look through the people to find anyone that looked familiar. So far, there was no sign of Drea and no sign of her housemate Elizabeth either.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere, Drea materialized in front of her, and Amy jumped about twenty feet in the hair. Amy clutched at her rapidly beating heart. "Good God!" She wrapped her arms around Drea, who was doing her very best not to laugh. "You scared the living hell out of me!" Amy released her to get a better look at her sister. Drea had colored her hair a dark blonde color and had cut it to her shoulders since the last time they’d seen each other. Her clothes looked a little rumpled, and Amy guessed that she had fallen asleep on the plane. Amy wanted to laugh as Drea smiled her same goofy smile that she could recall seeing since childhood.

"You look good, Drea." That made the girl’s smile widen even more.

"You too, Ames." Collecting her bearings, Drea touched motioned to the girl beside her. "You remember Lizzie."

Amy smiled and wrapped the other girl up in a hug. "Of course I do! How could I forget? I see her about as often as I see you."

Elizabeth’s smile was more muted, but only because she had just focused on the man standing beside Amy. She nudged Drea and nodded her head in Shane’s direction. When she turned to look to see where Elizabeth was motioning, it took all of her willpower not to scream.

"H-Hi," she mumbled, trying not to gawk.

Amy pretended not to notice Drea’s reaction and laid a hand on Shane’s arm and guided his hand to her sister’s. "Shane, this is my little sister, Drea. Drea, this is Shane Helms, one of your favorites as I recall?"

Drea gave her sister a dirty look, then smiled up at Shane. "Yeah. I’m a big fan of the whole Hurricane thing."

Shane grinned. "Thanks. You look prettier than your pictures."

With that comment, Drea turned blushed about eight shades of red. She nodded to Elizabeth, desperate to take some of the heat off of herself. "This is my housemate, Lizzie. We go to school together."

Shane offered his hand to Elizabeth and she took it in her own. "Hi, nice to meet you."

Amy cleared her throat after the last introduction. "Well, let’s go get your bags and get the hell out of here. We’ve been waiting for an hour for your plane, and after this experience, if I see another airport I just might kill myself."

With that, she ambled off in the direction of the baggage claim. The three followed behind her, and waited for their luggage to roll down the belt. Drea spotted a few of her suitcases and rushed to pull them off the belt. She tugged at one, but couldn’t manage to move it. How in the hell had she gotten it in the airport to begin with? She recalled that there had been a nice attendant to help her.

That was nice of him, but how the fuck was that going to help her now? Shane almost laughed at the spectacle as he sauntered over to help Drea out. He easily hoisted both bags from the belt, finally bursting out in laughter when she gave him a helpless look. He adjusted the bags in his hands as Elizabeth busied herself retrieving luggage of her own.

"What did you pack in here? Rocks?"

Drea glared at him in mock anger. “Hey, I’m not the one that runs around in face paint and a cape.”

“Whoa, someone’s feeling a little touchy today,” he smirked.

“I’m always touchy.” She extended her hands to him. “I can take my bags, now.” Shane snorted.

“You can’t get them off the belt yourself and you expect to carry them? I don’t think so.”

She sighed. “Shane, if I don’t carry them, who’s going to?”

“What do I look like I’m doing?”

“Will you two morons shut up and come ON?” Amy shouted. She and Elizabeth were standing impatiently at the door, obviously ready to go.

Drea turned back to Shane and sighed again. “I am way too tired to argue with you right now. If it makes you happy, you carry them.”

She spun on her heel and walked off towards the door, pretending like she wasn’t enjoying all this banter with one Shane Helms.

Amazingly, Amy and Shane had managed to find a parking spot close to the airport entrance. This was rare, especially for the Raleigh airport. They easily spotted the big, black Navigator in one of the rows and piled all the luggage in as quickly as they could.

“Fuck, Ames, how the hell do you drive this thing? It’s like a mack truck,” Drea remarked.

“I kind of like it. Besides, I’m not driving today. I brought Shane along so that he could.” With that she promptly crawled in the back seat. “I plan on taking a nap on the way home,” she called from the inside.

Drea stopped Elizabeth from climbing in beside Amy. “Don’t you want shotgun, Lizzie?” Elizabeth smirked and tried her best to inconspicuously nod towards the front seat where Shane was getting settled.

“Nah, you go ahead. I think I’m going to take a nap, too.” Elizabeth winked at Drea, then crawled in the back seat and shut the door. Gathering a breath, she opened the car door and pulled herself in. Shane was already fiddling around with the radio, and Amy and Elizabeth were adjusting their seats to make themselves more comfortable.

Shane looked at her. “You want anything to eat or drink before we get on the road?”

“Don’t ask her that, Shane,” Amy interrupted. “Did you forget about the big-ass barbeque we’re planning for this afternoon? Don’t feed her McDonald’s when she’s about to get some good home cooking.”

Drea smiled. “It’s really all right,” she murmured to Shane. “I had some really bad breakfast on the plane this morning, so I think my stomach wants to relax for a while.”

He shrugged. “That’s fine. Wouldn’t want to miss Jay’s barbeque anyway.”

Her face lit up. “God, I love Jay. I can’t wait to see him again. Who else is coming, Amy?” She turned to look at her sister, laughing when she saw her already asleep. “Asleep already.” She looked at Shane. “Do you know who all’s going to be there?”

Shane pulled out onto the interstate, lazily tapping his fingers to the music on the radio. “Yeah. Jeff and Trish for sure, umm… Adam, Chris, and Maven, I think. Stephanie will be there, and so will Torrie. Everyone else has a house show up in Vancouver tonight. But you should get to see most of your old crowd.”

She smiled as she stared at the people in the cars they passed. “It’ll be good to see old rainbow-head again. And good Lord, I feel so bad for Jay. Elizabeth and I always love to torment him. Half because he’s dating my sister and half because it’s just so easy.”

“He’s a good guy, though.”

“Oh, no doubt. He treats Amy well and he’s friendly to everyone. I almost wish we had a million more of him to go around. Every girl deserves a guy like that.”

Shane smiled. “That’d probably give you a headache after a while. Could you imagine? A million Jays? Half the planet would be stupid.” That earned a laugh from her. “So, are you seeing anybody back home?”

Drea froze. Just what kind of question was that? She told herself to relax, he was just making conversation, after all. “No. I don’t really date much.” She nervously wrung her hands in her lap.

“How come?” he wanted to know.

“Avoidance, mainly.” Drea half-laughed. “I guess with school and all, I’ve never really deemed dating as one of my higher priorities. I mean, Lizzie goes out all the time and I’m usually forced into tagging along and that’s fine, but I just fail to see the point of staying out all night, going from bar to bar, just guessing how many guys are going to try and grope my ass.”

Shane nodded, his eyes still concentrating on the road. “Well, when was the last time you had a steady boyfriend?”

She sighed, trying to recollect her thoughts. “I think it was freshman year of college, right before the summer. God, it’s been two years since my last relationship. How in God’s name have I survived?” Drea watched his profile, enjoying the traces of a smile appearing. “So,” She touched his hand which rested on the gearshift. He looked at her, expectant. “What about you?”

Shane tried to hide a smile. “You know. There are girls.” Drea rolled her eyes.

“Ah, so I’ve stumbled upon your flaw. Shane Helms, you’re a slut!” She couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled up within her when she saw his expression.

“I’m glad you think you’re funny,” he remarked with mock condescension.

That rolled her into another fit of laughter. By the time she could just manage to catch her breath, she had to wipe the tears from her eyes.

“You know, you wouldn’t be laughing so hard if you were getting a little sex yourself.”

At the mention of the word sex, Drea stiffened. He was insulting her. So why the fuck did it have to sound so good coming from his lips?

“I have sex,” she murmured quietly. “Not that it’s any of your business.”

“Okay, I’ll buy that. Are we talking recently or are you referring to an experience with the aforementioned ex from two years ago?” He smirked at her, and damn him for making her feel like this. Part of her wanted to scratch his eyes out, and the other half…

“I’m going to take a nap now, Shane. I expect you to wake me up when we get to the house.”

“Hit a nerve, did I?”

“Not even close. Concentrate on the road, Shane. Just let me sleep.” With that last retort she shifted in her seat and closed her eyes.

________________________________________________________________________

She could have sworn her dreams had never felt this good. In the half-hour she had managed to sleep, Drea had started to dream about Shane. She heard his voice, felt his hands glide along her skin.

“Drea, wake up,” he whispered. He traced his fingers along the lines of her face, knowing full well when she was completely awake she’d just warrant the caress as part of some dream. He saw her eyes start to flicker open, her body start to move, and he stiffened, unbuckled his seat belt and opened the car door. “You awake, kiddo?” Drea glared at him as she climbed out of the car.

“I am not a child.” She trudged off towards the house, with Shane following in her wake. He smirked. She really didn’t realize what a pleasure for him it was to walk behind her. He admired the way the denim of her jeans stretched tightly across her thighs with each step she took.

Shane urged himself to look away. In this house were people that had known Drea since she was born. If he couldn’t abstain from checking her out the way he had just done, there were going to be some hideously angry people coming after him, and he knew that Amy would be the very first in line to get him.

Drea smiled as she heard all the voices around back. She could barely keep herself from running around like a maniac to see everyone. She came into view and laughed when Jay tackled her into a hug. After close to three years of dating her sister, Jay had become somewhat a brother both to her and to Liz.

Drea looked around. Where was Liz? She saw Shane approach Chris, Amy, and Trish and Jeff, Stephanie, Maven, and Torrie were standing in a circle by the grill, holding their drinks and chatting away. She had a much better question, now.

Where the fuck was Adam?

She pulled out of Jay’s embrace and looked at him in the eye. “Jay, where are Adam and Liz?”

Jay shrugged. “They said they were going for a walk somewhere. Beats me.”

Drea rolled her eyes. Now she understood. This wasn’t the first time that Liz and Adam had wandered off together. The pair were crazy about each other, although something always managed to keep them apart. Lizzie had suggested the walk, probably, just to get the ball rolling. Drea was pretty positive that Lizzie was going to get her way this time, no matter what. She’d been looking forward to this vacation more than Drea had.

She followed Jay as he walked over to join Amy in the huddle of bodies. Chris wrapped his arm around her waist. “God Drea, I thought you had left us and were never coming back.” He dropped a kiss on her cheek. “When are you coming back home for good? I want to be able to see you more often.”

She snorted. “Even if I did move back to Cameron, you’d still be spending too much time flapping your jaws at somebody to remember to come down for a visit.”

“Well, you could just drop all of this college crap and come on the road with me,” he suggested. At that, Amy had to jump in.

“Don’t you dare put an idea like that in her head, Chris Irvine. You know that no woman can resist an offer like that, and we really wanted Drea to graduate before she found some loud-mouthed asshole to follow around the world.”

Drea was about to comment, but before she could, she caught sight of Lizzie and Adam, who had come out of a path that led into the woods. Elizabeth was grinning like a jackass and holding a dandelion in her hand.

“You look rather pleased about something,” Drea remarked as the pair approached the group. “Have fun in the woods, Lizzie?” Elizabeth stuck her tongue out at her.

“Shut up. At least I can get some you big, virgin FREAK!” Laughter rippled around the crowd. Shane tapped Drea on the shoulder, grinned down at her.

“Are you getting hot, Ms. Dumas? Because that sure sounded like a BURN!”

Drea through her hands up in the air. “Okay, can we please not make this ‘Let’s-make-fun-of-Drea’ Day? I vote that we eat and then we can all make fun of somebody else.” Stephanie held up her red, plastic cup.

“Here, here.” Drea smiled at her.

“Thank you, Steph. You always did have my back, unlike some people.” She cast a glare in Elizabeth’s direction. As the others scurried off to fill up their plates, Elizabeth went after her as she went to pour herself a drink. She placed a hand on Drea’s shoulder.

“Hey, you’re not really pissed, are you? I was only joking.”

Drea shook her head. “Nah, but let me tell you something, if I hear one more comment out of Shane, I’m gonna go after him with a fork.”

Elizabeth smiled as she poured herself an iced tea. “If I were you, I’d disregard it. After all, he’s only flirting.” Drea nearly spat out her drink.

“Umm, Liz, in case you haven’t noticed, since I’ve met him, he’s done nothing but tease me mercilessly. I know the difference between flirting and an insult, you know.” Elizabeth resisted the urge to slap the girl in the back of the head.

“Hey, Bonehead. Weren’t you a kid once?”

“Huh?”

“Duh. In kindergarten, if a guy liked you, he pulled your ponytail. The same thing’s happening here. When it comes to women, the man’s mentality is simple. To get the girl, you irritate the hell out of her, make her want you by playing Mr. Hard-To-Get, and let her come to you.”

Drea’s eyes narrowed as she studied Shane from behind. “Are you sure, Liz? It seems awful far-fetched. I mean, you expect me to believe that Shane likes me?”

Elizabeth nodded. “Yes.”

“How do you know?”

“Because I’m the goddess of all-knowing. Besides, Jeff told me.” With a smile, Elizabeth walked over to where Adam sat, leaving Drea there to gape. Adam smiled as she settled onto the bench beside him.

“You look rather satisfied with yourself,” he murmured.

“I am. I had to set Drea straight about Shane.” Adam offered her a bite of barbeque. Elizabeth almost burst inside when he held her chin and pushed the fork to her lips. Good God, could the man be any cuter?

“What about Shane?”

“Well, she didn’t seem to realize his overwhelming attraction to her. I told her she was an idiot.” Adam laughed.

“I can’t believe she didn’t see it. I mean, I could already feel the tension between those two, even when I was walking up.” He lifted more food to her lips, wiped away a little sauce from the corner of her mouth. He stared into her eyes, holding up the napkin. “You had sauce on you,” he explained.

Elizabeth just grinned and placed a hand on his knee. “It’s good to see you again, Adam. It’s really good.”

He nodded in agreement. “Yeah, and maybe this visit we’ll have a little more time together alone?”

She tried desperately to contain her huge smile. “Of course. Maybe we’ll get a chance to sneak away again later tonight.”

“Uh, didn’t Amy or someone tell you? Me and the rest of the guys were headed out to Fayetteville tonight. Jay said he wanted to give you girls a night to yourself, you know, for catching up or whatever else girls do.”

Elizabeth’s face fell. “Well, does Drea know about this? I mean, I think she might have been expecting everyone to be pulling an all-nighter, you know.”

“Nah,” Adam pushed his hair back out of his eyes. “Amy already told Drea, apparently. She was cool with it.” He noticed Elizabeth’s saddened expression. “Hey,” He smoothed his hands over hers. “Don’t get all sad on me, now. You can wait up for me. We’ll be back around two… and then tomorrow, I’m going to devote my entire day to you.”

“You promise?”

Adam touched her cheek. “I wouldn’t lie to you.”

Drea wasn’t oblivious to Elizabeth and Adam. Mentally, she was cheering for Lizzie. Things seemed to be going perfectly for her and she couldn’t be happier. She quietly ate her food in her seat beside Chris. All the guys were talking excitedly about this bar that they were headed out to that night. Fuck it! Drea chided herself. She had forgotten to mention that to Elizabeth. Fuck, fuck. Oh, well, Drea sighed. Lizzie would get over it. She jumped in surprised when Shane plopped down in the space next to her.

“Ah, Mr. Helms,” Drea smiled, her voice sweet as saccharine. “What brings you here? Come to toss more insults at me?”

He picked up her drink, slurped some down. “I’ve never insulted you, Drea. If I decide to, you’ll know it.”

She frowned as he settled the glass back down in front of her, snatched her fork, and helped himself to some coleslaw. “So you sat here to drink my tea, eat my food, and keep me entertained with your wit and charm?” Shane nodded and grinned.

“You got it about right,” he said smugly. Drea sighed.

“Well, please hurry up and tell me what you want, because I don’t know how long you’re going to be able to hang around before I get that urge again.”

“What urge?” He smiled at her slyly and she knew exactly what he thought she was insinuating. That jerk. He just had to be full of himself, didn’t he? She returned his dirty grin. She motioned for him to come closer and she leaned in to whisper in his ear.

“The urge to wring your neck,” Drea whispered. And smiling, she stood up and left Shane there, speechless. Because everyone else seemed so engrossed in their own conversations, Drea sat down in the seat next to Adam and Elizabeth. She patted Adam’s hand.

“Good to see you again, Adam. I’ve missed you.” She noticed Elizabeth giving her a look. “I’m sorry if I intruded, but I’m apparently being followed by a Hurri-Moron,” she quipped. Adam snorted.

“And you love it. And don’t try to argue, either. We all see the way you two look at each other.” Drea opened her mouth to talk, but Adam held up a finger. “And since you’re being so cooperative with me and not trying to deny the complete obvious, I feel inclined to tell you that we’re about to leave. You’re little Shane is about to disappear for the night. So you can’t keep complaining about him being around.” He pulled Elizabeth’s hand into his and pressed a kiss to her palm. “All your whining gives Lizzie a headache.”

Drea stuck her tongue out at him. “Now, now, Drea. Don’t go making faces at me. You only act mad because you don’t want anyone to know that I’m right.”

“Whatever you say Adam.” She noticed that the guys were starting to walk off to the driveway, roaring and ready to leave. Drea glanced at her watch. Good Lord. It was already seven-thirty. She motioned to the driveway. “I think your boys are leaving.” Adam stood up, still holding Elizabeth’s hand.

“Walk me to my car?” he asked her. Elizabeth smiled.

“Sure.”

Because she felt stupid sitting alone while everyone wished the guys goodbye, she stood up and followed the couple to the cars. She took a great, long look at the scene in front of her. Everyone was coupled up, so it seemed. Well, discounting Chris and Stephanie, who were currently exchanging insults. But who cared? Everyone knew they were fucking anyway. Torrie and Maven were talking in low voices beside Jay and Amy who were trying to see how far they could insert their tongues down one another’s throat. Christ, even Jeff and Trish were going at it, necking right inside the car.

Drea felt herself begin to feel a little sick at the sight of all the affection. She turned, ready to head into the house, and ran smack into Shane. He circled his arms around her waist and smiled at her complacently. “Well, look what I’ve got here. Is this your subtle way of trying to tell me you want a goodbye kiss, kiddo?” She pushed her hands against his chest.

“Shane, I can honestly say that if you ever refer to me as ‘kiddo’ again, I’m gonna choke you with your hurri-cape.”

He caught her wrists in his hands, pulled her to him. “You won’t choke me.” Her eyes narrowed.

“What makes you think that?” Shane let go of her hands, wrapped his strong arms around her and crushed frame against his.

“I think you want me.”

Drea tried her best to ease away from him, not able to make her eyes fixate on anything but his mouth. God, the man was like sex.

“I think you’re wrong.” Shane just smiled and released her and Drea found herself missing his touch the moment it was gone. “I’ll see you when we get back.” He climbed into the back of Adam’s car. “If you’re awake that late,” he called as an afterthought. She rolled her eyes at him, but managed not to start having a fit when she saw Adam roll down his window, beckon to Elizabeth, and pull her into a torrid kiss.

Good God. That was certainly something she hadn’t expected to see. Elizabeth walked away, flushed and starry-eyed. Jesus. Let the sap begin to roll. The group of girls mingled in the driveway, watched the caravan of vehicles drive off. When the cars were out of sight, Amy turned to them.

“Okay, y’all. I know half of you are depressed because they wanted to have a guys’ night out, but cheer up. I’ve prepared a little girls’ night in, all to celebrate my baby sister’s arrival.” Drea made a face as Amy ruffled her hair. The girls did their best to clean up all the food, carry it all in, and put it in the refrigerator for keeping. Amy pulled her car keys from her pocket and tossed them to Torrie.

“Torrie, could you, Trish, and Steph go get the refreshments from the back of the Navigator?” Torrie nodded and the three smirked and headed back outside.

Elizabeth and Drea exchanged looks. “Refreshments, Amy?” Elizabeth wondered out loud. “No offense, but we just ate.”

Amy smiled and nudged both girls in the direction of the stairs. “Don’t you worry about that. Right now I want you two to go upstairs, take a shower if you want, and change into your pajamas. Just give us twenty minutes to get everything ready. Drea, we put your stuff in the room next to mine, and Lizzie, you’re right across the hall. Go.” They had no choice but to head upstairs.

They reached their rooms and Drea paused before she went in. “Wait, Liz. What do you think they’re planning down there?”

Elizabeth practically sang her words, her head still spinning from that kiss. “Honestly, Drea. I don’t know. I don’t particularly care, either.” She smiled dreamily. “Nothing could make me feel any better right now.” And Liz skipped into her room and closed the door.

________________________________________________________________________

Drea had just slipped on her pajamas when Elizabeth knocked on her door and came in. She still had a cheesy smile on her face, and Drea couldn’t help but laugh.

“You look like you just won the lottery,” she commented.

“I know it. I just can’t help it. I feel like I’m floating.” Drea followed her down the stairs and they heading to the den. Drea could not believe what she saw.

Amy, Trish, Stephanie, and Torrie had spread blankets out on the floor, and were sitting down in a circle, already changed into their pajamas. What shocked the hell out her was the fact that each girl held a bottle of alcohol in their hands, and Drea spied another whole bagful across the room, sitting next to a camera settled on a tripod.

“We decided the best way to have a good time with the girls was to get you two drunk as fuck and get everything on tape,” Amy explained, handed Drea a bottle of tequila. Jesus, Amy was already a little tipsy. Elizabeth accepted the bottle of vodka Stephanie was handing her and plopped down next to Drea. The both slugged some of their drink down.

“So,” Trish said, gesturing to the camera. “Let’s make this interesting, shall we? I wanna be able to look back on this tape and laugh.”

“Yeah,” Torrie agreed. “What do guys talk about when they get trashed?”

Stephanie giggled. “Sex, sex, and more sex.”

“We can talk about sex,” Elizabeth murmured. “I’m sure each of us can give an earful.”

“What about sex?” Amy wanted to know. “The best we’ve ever had or something?”

Drea, who had been silently drinking her tequila, raised her bottle. “First times. We could talk about that.”

Torrie wrinkled her nose. “That’s no fun. I wanna hear about what our little wrestling men are like in bed. How about first times with your current significant?”

Amy threw up her hands. “Wait, wait, wait. What about you, Torrie? And Drea and Elizabeth? Think you’re going to get to listen, but not dish it out. If you’re going to hear about my first time with Jay, I want fantasies from each of you. And I expect to know the guy you’re fantasy is about. We indulge you, you indulge us, agreed?” Her eyes fixated on each of the girls.

They all nodded.

“All right, then, it’s settled,” Trish said. “Now… who’s going first? I vote we save the fresh meat for last. Steph, Ames, and I can go first.”

Stephanie started to protest. “But, I’m not dating-”

“Oh, stuff a sock in it, McMahon. We all know who you’re fucking.” Stephanie opened her mouth to say something else, thought better of it, and shut her lips. “Ames,” Trish grinned. “It’s your house, you should go first.”

Amy nodded, took a long chug of her wine, and settled down to tell her tale.
